Manish Sharma, a talented artist, was born in an art loving Family and raised in Gujarat. His childhood was filled with exciting adventures to his maternal uncle’s house in Rajasthan, where he spent his school holidays. This exposure to Rajasthani culture from a childhood had a lasting impact on him and he has many fond memories of his travels there. From a young age, Manish was captivated by the vibrant Rajasthani culture, the simplicity of village life, and the breathtaking beauty of its Forts, Ponds, and Ghats. His artistic journey took shape after enrolling in art college, where he started practicing outdoor drawing, allowing him to capture the essence of his surroundings.
He captured the essence of Rajasthan’s streets and traditional houses through his art. His outdoor studies during that period resulted in a series of live paintings. This body of work made its debut at the Bajaj Art Gallery in 1998, with a prestigious inauguration by Padma Vibhushan Shri Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma. The exhibition was a resounding success, with all artworks being sold. The accolades he received fueled his passion, and he continues to work on this series to these days.
He has visited numerous heritage sites, meticulously depicting scenes with precision through pencil art. He has extensively practiced capturing shadows and lighting, infusing his art with personal perspective and thought. This unique approach has given rise to a distinctive style, characterized by smooth black and white shading. His elegant artistry commands special attention from art enthusiasts, who admire his distinctive aesthetic. Colorful Rajasthan can be seen in his Black & White art series. That is his huge success. His 30-years artistic practice has culminated in a captivating body of work that draws viewers like a magnet. Now a days, he continues to work on this series, utilizing his favored mediums of Acrylic, Pen and Ink, and Pencil on canvas. Manish is a registered national artist, with a distinguished career marked by participation in numerous national art exhibitions across India. He has received multiple national-level awards and has been recognized by the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, as ‘one of India’s premier national Artist.’
