Layers of Heritage and Time

Artist Praween Karmakar is a freelance artist based in Jharkhand with several notable achievements to his credit. He won the Best Entry Award at the Camlin Art Contest held at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. He was also among the selected artists who painted the boundary wall mural of the JPSC Office as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative.

His artworks are displayed at the JSCA Stadium, Dhurwa, as well as at the State Museum, Hotwar. Praween Karmakar is a member of the International Watercolor Society and the Indian Institute of Creative Art and Painting.

He primarily works with watercolors on Fabriano paper, creating evocative landscapes, still-life compositions, and figurative artworks. His practice reflects a sensitive handling of light, color, and everyday subjects through the transparent and expressive medium of watercolor.
