Born in 1967 Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India, Ghanshyam is an alumnus of the Govt. College of Art, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India.
Beginning from realistic paintings and pen sketching portraits, he has subsequently moved to paint series like Landscape acrylic painting, paintings of Varanasi Ghats, Indian Village paintings, Temples of Banaras and Street scenes. His mountainscapes have the power of reminding us about the well-known artist Nicholas Roerich. He can paint the sceneries or monuments at a distance or in close stations without compromising on the worth and quality of the artwork.
To add to his skills of creativity, his paintings are also figurative in nature where we can see people witnessing the monuments in his artworks against the enormous monuments. His jungle paintings are also of an exceptional quality wherein we see dwarfed people against the thick colorful background of the jungle in effervescent olive, blue and red colors. His abstract Horse paintings on canvas have quite been a people’s choice as it has been sold in most of the countries all over the world.
Capturing various typical Indian dancing posturers in wide-ranging forms and exotic colors seems to catch your eyes looking at dancers performing dances. He has also stepped into Sufiyana paintings as well. Indian culture and traditional paintings aptly convey the true essence of India from Rajasthani forts and monuments to an urban lifestyle.

Successfully executing the theme of forests, trees and environment paintings it strongly conveys that the artist has studied nature very closely.
Getting on he has painted various artworks depicting the festival of Holi, celebrated in India. Holi the festival of colors has been a part of his paintings by using a COCKTAIL OF COLORS. Perfectly choosing the colors to happy shades the riot of colors like Gulal, Green, Red and Yellow flying above the Holi celebrators beating their Drums and Daphlies.
His pen and ink drawings and village paintings displaying the carefree and contented life in the village are a pleasure to see. Free from the materialistic happiness his village painting series captures the true feeling of village people.
Taking into consideration the advances taken by the artist and painting over 5000 artworks in his 35 years of the journey he has built such immense progress from one level to another progressive level that it will not be a miracle that the artist will discover himself in the cluster of well-known artists on the Indian art skyline.
He has done more than 20 shows in India and abroad and more than 100 group shows in different cities in India.
