Emotions in Landscapes

A master of A.T.D. G.D.Art (Drawing & Painting) 1st Class. 19 Jun, 1990. Karad, Salim has a very different take on landscapes. Growing up in a small village in the Satara District of Maharashtra state of India, (near the confluence of the river Krishna and its tributary, the Venna,) Salim has taken inspiration from his childhood adventures along the valleys and rivers of the seven mountains that surround the area. Unusual as his style is, his personality also reflects in his art. Simple, sober landscapes with minimal color, just enough to capture a viewer’s attention. The technique of brush and knife strokes are very unique. They come together to give a majestic sort of feel to the landscape capturing the beauty of streams and waterfalls.
