Painting is the art in which colors and lines make the visual impression and it is interesting to note that besides a paintbrush, objects like nibs, knives, spatula and even twigs can also be used to accomplish this. When Mumbai based artist Kanchan Mahante discovered the urge in her to paint and to do something different, she started experimenting with the novel, untouched art form, the ‘Nib paintings’. After having attempted on abstracts, landscapes and more, the artist started working on figurative nib paintings. Today, after eight years, the self taught nib artist, Kanchan Mahante, for whom art is something that came about out of a passion to do something ultimate artistic is showcasing her magic with her Nib works.

Through, her art show, ‘Magic Nib’, she is all set to present her worthy, well-deserved collection of her Nib works. In the past Kanchan Mahante has participated in the festival held in Goa, Panjim Kala Academy, it was inaugurated by Australian Author Mr. Thomas Keneally in the year 2014. Her solo show is took place from 30th Jan – 1st Feb 2015 at Easel Art Gallery, Near Prithvi Theatre, Juhu.
