ABOUT VIJAY GILLE
A rural elegant journey

Born on July 25, 1978, Vijay Gille is an artist whose work transcends the ordinary, capturing the essence of rural life with a unique vibrancy and warmth. His art, characterized by rich, earthy colors and lifelike themes, draws deeply from his personal experiences and sensibilities. Gille’s distinctive style brings everyday rural scenes to life, whether it’s the quiet bustle of a chaiwala’s cart, the serene figures of Radha-Krishna, or women in traditional attire. His protagonists, infused with raw energy, resonate through smooth strokes and layered textures, creating a synergy between the traditional and the contemporary.

Gille’s artistic foundation was laid at Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya in Latur, where he earned his Art Teacher Diploma, and further honed at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya in Pune, where he obtained a G.D. Art Painting Diploma. His education has been complemented by a prolific exhibition history, with solo shows at prestigious venues such as Jehangir Art Gallery, Nehru Center Art Gallery, and Tulika Art Gallery in Mumbai, as well as ICON ART gallery in Hyderabad. He has also participated in numerous group shows across India, including at Art Land Gallery and the Artist Center Gallery in Mumbai.

Recognized for his exceptional talent, Gille has received several awards, including the K.N. Shinoy Award from The Bombay Art Society, multiple awards from the State Art, Mumbai, and accolades for his landscape and portrait work from Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya. His art is held in various private collections in India and abroad, reflecting its wide appeal and timeless quality.

Vijay Gille’s work is more than just a portrayal of rural life; it’s a vivid narrative that connects the viewer to the beauty of simplicity and the vibrancy of human experience.
