Story of an Inspiration

Born in 1977, Nilesh Nikam’s meditative paintings evoke a feeling of tranquillity in the viewer. Mystical motifs, textural play, layered application and Indian traditional motifs are complemented by a vibrant colour palette. Each canvas is bifurcated spatially and can be interpreted as a metaphor to one’s spiritual aura vs. one’s worldly aura.

The best part of the paintings is that they do not have a fixed interpretation. While the artist assimilates a bouquet of meditative musings for the viewer, he leaves the viewer to make an individual choice and enjoy the work in his own way.
