Lyrical Symphony!

Prakash Deshmukh has had a solo exhibition at Art Entrance Gallery, Mumbai, in 2005; and another titled ‘Lyrical Symphony’ at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, in 2009. His work has been a part of group exhibitions at Gallery Artchill, Jaipur; Vinnyasa Premier Art Gallery, Chennai; and Kanchan Art Gallery, Jaipur. His pieces were also featured in the ‘Exhibition of Indian Contemporary Artists’, Singapore, in 2008, and he has participated in ‘Art Access Week’ presented by Vinnyasa Art Gallery, Chennai, in 2008; ‘Chatak’ at the Nehru Centre, Mumbai, also in 2008; and the ‘Monsoon Show’ presented by Legacy Art Gallery, Mumbai, in 2007.

Born in August 1975 in Latur district from the state of Maharshtra, he completed his 1995 Bachelor of Arts, Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalaya, Latur in 1995; G. D. Art (Drawing and Painting) from L. S. Raheja School of Arts, Mumbai (1999); and Diploma in Art Education in from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune (2000). Among his selected solo exhibitions are ‘Lyrical Symphony’ at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2009) and a show at The Art Entrance Gallery, Mumbai in 2005.

His noteworthy group exhibitions include one of Indian Contemporary Artist Original’s at Singapore (2008); shows at Gallery Artchill and Kanchan Art Gallery, both in Jaipur, Rajasthan (2008); ‘Rhythm of Color’, Kolkata (2007); Juneja Art Gallery, Jaipur, Rajasthan (2006); Vinnyasa Premier Art Gallery, Chennai (2006) and an exhibition at Son et Lumiere, Mumbai in 1998. He has also participed in shows like ‘Chatak’, Nehru Centre, Mumbai (2008); ‘Monsoon Show’, Legacy Art Gallery, Mumbai (2007); The Art Society of India, Mumbai (2000); Maharashtra State Art Exhibition (1998) and the Bombay Art Society show in 1998, among others.
