2018 | Horizon – World Art Dubai

Solo Show | Manish Sharma

The black and white landscape paintings in this exhibition seamlessly merge the tranquility of expansive horizons with the stark beauty of deserts and grasslands. The absence of color lends an air of timelessness to these artworks, enhancing the focus on the interplay between light and shadow.

Each brushstroke expertly conveys the isolation of human and animal figures, set against the vastness of their surroundings. The horizon stretches across the canvas like a threshold to the unknown, inviting contemplation and reflection. Solitary figures, whether humans or animals, traverse the landscapes with a sense of purpose and quiet introspection. The desert scenes evoke a sense of awe and reverence, as towering sand dunes rise like ancient monuments, shaped by the whispering winds of time. Lone figures traverse these open spaces, their silhouettes against the expanse capturing the fleeting nature of human existence.

These monochromatic landscapes not only capture the beauty of the world around us but also serve as a mirror reflecting the human experience. The combination of desolation and movement in these scenes reminds us of the transient nature of life, urging us to pause and reflect upon our own journey against the backdrop of an ever-changing world.

2015 | Colors Alive : Live Art Fiesta – Street along Painted Rhythm, Khar, Mumbai

Live Activity | Suresh Parihar

Step into a world of vibrant imagination and creativity at the “Colors Alive: Live Art Fiesta,” an unforgettable event that took place in 2015. This unique gathering transformed a regular street into a bustling haven of art, where both kids and passersby could partake in an immersive art experience.

Imagine strolling down a normally busy urban street with noisy vehicles, and instead, you see it filled with an atmosphere of laughter, excitement, and artistic exploration. The event’s main objective was to bridge the gap between art and the community, bringing people of all ages together to celebrate self-expression, connection, and the joy of creativity. Children, families, and individuals passing by had the opportunity to channel their inner artists, turning blank postcards into dazzling works of art. Whether it was a whimsical landscape, a cheerful animal, or an abstract burst of color, each creation held the unique spirit of its maker.

Our talented artist Suresh Parihar showcased his skills, inspiring and engaging the crowd with live painting sessions. The event aimed to foster a sense of togetherness and creativity, emphasizing that art knows no boundaries or age limits. It remains a cherished memory, a celebration of art’s ability to unite, inspire, and transform even the most ordinary spaces into extraordinary moments of joy.

2014 | City of Gold in Black and White – Nehru Centre, Mumbai

Solo Show | Prakash Ghadge

Have you ever taken the time to truly appreciate the splendor of your own city? Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, the opportunity to explore the remarkable attractions and highlights right within our own backyard often eludes us. One upcoming event seeks to uncover these hidden treasures and showcase the inherent beauty of nature.

Ghadge’s artistic endeavor revolves around capturing the small yet enchanting elements that comprise our city’s essence. His passion is rooted in unveiling the charm of our familiar surroundings. Reflecting on his exhibition, Prakash Ghadge shares, “I am all excited to showcase my exhibition with a specific aim to let individuals know the beauty of their own city. I had traveled across the world, yet I always question myself, why do Indians plan their sightseeing outside India? As soon as I returned from my world art tour, I began drawing my own city. That’s when I decided I wanted to do a series on each city with its course of nature too.”

Delving into his artistic process, Ghadge explains, “What gives my work its originality is my use of Rotring Pen, emphasis on light and shadows. First and foremost, nature is the inspection for my work. Drawing and sketching has always been a part of my life. Wherever I go, my camera or sketch book is always with me so that I can capture all sorts of subjects that I would like to sketch. I have also exhibited my favorite subject related to water (like Ghats, boats, reflections).”

Within this series, Ghadge introduces his exquisite renditions of Benaras Ghats, effectively encapsulating the tranquil beauty on his canvas. His aspiration has always been to share emotions that often fleetingly pass by.

2012 | Divine and Dark – Hirji, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai

Solo Show | Prince Chand

A solo exhibition of paintings by Prince Chand representing the immortal one, the Buddha, as the subject. Buddha is an earthly replica of the indissolubly fused world. The artist’s work is based on the message of peace and harmony. In his work Prince Chand follows the logic of Indian aesthetic (Rasa, bhava, symmetry, ornamentation, philosophical text as well as the Indic image making techniques. His works are thus a convincing continuation of the foregoing vigorous art forms. After an intuitive as well as intellective grasping of the high points of temple art styles as of rock or cave art patterns, he has sought to transform them into contemporary or modern forms.

In this way he has utilized ancient motifs in fresh contemporary incarnation. Significantly achieved by focusing on aesthetic and almost sculptural techniques, like reorganizing cum breaking symmetry, the reorientation of the same, as the simplification of structures and rhythms, the modernization of traditional forms with a remarkable, indeed astonishing genius for culling out dazzling points of light in multifarious way in each otherwise sober-colored canvas using abstraction, is strongly done.

“In 2007, I had a dream in which I saw Lord Buddha standing on a river with a light passing through him. The light denoted enlightenment and this is precisely what I try to showcase in my paintings”. To give authenticity to his works on Lord Buddha, Prince Chand travelled to the Ajanta-Ellora caves to carefully observe and interpret works on Buddhist religious art. His other impressive works include his paintings on Lord Buddha, Mother Teresa, Radha-Krishna and Guru Nanak Dev.

2011 | Reflection of Quaint Cities – Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery, Mumbai

Solo Show | Paramesh Paul

Through his landscapes and cityscapes Paramesh Paul touching the core of deeper realty tries to expound a spiritual sensibility. Spirituality bordering round traditional religious feelings is the essence of his art. In that sense his paintings have a greater purpose. Through his works he analyses and investigates life, looks deeper into the relation of people with nature, with religious emotion and how ordinary people transcend themselves from the bondage of day to day mundane existence and project themselves towards a higher spiritual ideal. For this purpose Paramesh very often takes up the religious centers of the country as his subject. He is greatly in love with Benaras. Haridwar, Hrishikesh and other religious places also appear very often in his paintings. He has also a predilection for looking at the life around river. Water appears as a dominant theme in his painting, specially the river Ganges. This particular river is greatly associated with the religious and spiritual sentiments of the people of India. Through this river flows the tradition of the country from the ancient time to the present. The association of the people with this river since the time immemorial is something of devotion, awe and ovation through which they can surpass the burden of earthly existence towards a spiritual feeling. This is the reason for which the celebrated artists from our country and abroad have always felt a great zeal to paint Benaras and the river ‘Ganga’ associated with it.

But he is never limited within Benaras and religious sites only. He paints with equal zeal and interest the city of Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai. Through these cityscapes also he enters deeper into the life and the various cults of the people. The dense population, the dingy environs of these business oriented towns, where streets are encroached by the business community, where traffic jams are daily routine, where people always gets themselves accustomed to the rush, dirt and lack of adequate space and project this spatial narrowness in their day to day living, appear as the content of his paintings, which in turn determines his form.
